IMPCO Apprenticeship Program

Apprenticeship Program at Impco

IMPCO developed the Product Engineering Layout and Assembly Apprenticeship program with Lansing Community College and the US Department of Labor. This is a work-based program in which the employees work and attend college simultaneously. IMPCO pays the apprentice's tuition for both required and elective classes, as well as furnishes the apprentice with their own tools and toolbox. The apprentice receives scheduled wage increases as their skills increase. In total, apprentices need about 8000 hours of school and work to become highly skilled and be eligible for their Journeyman’s card.
